Executive Committee /

NAPHIT is led by an executive committee that includes the president, immediate past president, secretary, treasurer and three members-at-large. The day-to-day activities of the association are managed by an executive director.

President
Marcy Parykaza, MGA, Director, Bureau of Information Management Services, State of Delaware, Division of Public Health
Marcy Parykaza has over 25 years experience working as an Information Technology professional in both the public and the private sector. Marcy is currently responsible for IT planning, strategic direction, coordination, budget and expenditure approval, technology procurement and management of all Division of Public Health IT assets. As an IT consultant Marcy's roles have included Senior Technical Architect, Business Process Engineer, Database Designer, Project Manager and Training Facilitator. Marcy has also implemented centralized networked environments, help desk organizations and Project Offices. Marcy has received the Malcolm Baldridge Award for quality initiatives and has participated in the training and implementation of the Capability Maturity Module (CMM) process. She received her Masters in Information Technology in 1991.

Immediate Past President
Michael (Mike) Hill, DHA(c), MPH, MPA, MCSE Director, El Paso Department of Public Health (El Paso, TX)
Mike Hill has served on both the NACCHO Informatics Workgroup since 2003, representing that group on the Epi-X Editorial Board for four years, and is currently the chair of NACCHO's Public Health Infrastructure and Systems Essential Services Committee; and represents the Health Administration Section of APHA on APHA's Governing Council. Mike has worked on the PHIN Conference planning committee for the past three years and has been actively involved in NAPHIT since the 2003 annual meeting, following which he was appointed as a member-at-large of the Executive Committee. Mike was elected President of NAPHIT in 2006 for a two-year term and now serves as Immediate Past President.

Treasurer
Eileen B. Underwood, Information Technology Manager, Vermont Department of Health
Eileen Underwood has been a member of NAPHIT for more than 3 years. She joined the Vermont Department of Health Information Technology and Services Unit in 2002 with 25 years experience in state government. Her responsibilities focus the acquisition and implementation of available or existing software solutions from external sources. She has experience in requirements analysis, RFP development, product selection, contract development and management. Eileen is also responsible for the development of security policies and procedures for Information Resources. She received a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Vermont and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
