NAPHIT members have outlined several areas on which to focus the association's energy and resources. These areas include best practices to improve quality and reduce costs of public health information systems and information technology. We also plan to influence the development and adoption of standards, encourage data sharing, and promote the integration of disparate information systems in public health information technology. We do this through advocacy and advice to decision makers at the federal, state and local level.

NAPHIT also supports the professional development of those individuals already working in, or planning to work in, public health IT.
